Rice Rugby Ireland Tour 2008

Rice University Rice Rugby Football Club Ireland Tour 2008

From March 3-March 9, The Rice University Rugby Football club travelled to Ireland to conduct its first ever international rugby tour. The Rice Rugby club is the first Rice University team to travel internationally. We would like to personally thank all the Alumni who donated greatly to our efforts in making the tour possible. The tour provided us with great experience and we were able to partake in two international coaching training sessions, one being from the Muster coach, winners of the Heineken Cup. The Ireland Tour leaves over twenty current nongraduating team members with international experience. It was a wonderful opportunity that I will remember for the rest of my life. It was also an honor to represent Rice University internationally.

Among the many things the team visited were the Book of Kells, Blarney Castle, and the Guiness Factory in Dublin.

The tour included stays in the cities of Limmerick, Cork and Dublin in Ireland. The club faced one of the Trinity College Dublin and also Ballincollig Rugby Football Club.
